The Personal Board is an initiative by TiE Chennai, created to empower entrepreneurs, to begin a journey of personal transformation. We acknowledge that personal growth complements business success. This exclusive program brings together 8 to 10 entrepreneurs, carefully selected from non-competing industries, based on specific criteria. The primary objective is to facilitate a dual transformation—both on a personal level and within their business ventures—through the collective wisdom gained from shared experiences.
Each member of the Personal Board assumes the role of a director for their fellow entrepreneurs, applying their unique perspective and experience to address similar challenges. This dynamic approach introduces fresh, innovative, and unconventional solutions that extend beyond the ordinary confines of problem-solving.
Twice a month, the Directors meet virtually on Zoom to enable discussions beyond boundaries. They engage in candid discussions within a confidential and secluded setting, bound by an oath of stringent confidentiality. They follow a structured framework of activities prescribed by TiE Chennai.
Each Personal Board within the TiE Chennai network is entrusted with a dedicated facilitator from the organization. This facilitator assumes the responsibility of nurturing the board’s dynamics and ensuring its well-being of the board.
The Personal Board captures the spirit of collective growth- one for all and all for one concept – enabling entrepreneurs to transcend geographical limitations and tap into a diverse network of insights. Through this program, TiE Chennai paves the way for entrepreneurs to access a spectrum of perspectives, driving holistic development and propelling business and personal transformation.
To be eligible for Personal Board membership, you should meet the following criteria:
● You must be an Entrepreneur
● Your company should have commenced generating revenue
The criteria followed by TiE Chennai for inducting an individual into the Personal Board are:
● The applicant must be an entrepreneur
● The Business must have commenced generating revenue
● It is ensured that all entrepreneurs are in non-competing businesses
● It is ensured that the entrepreneurs are from different geographical areas
● It is ensured that the entrepreneurs are in a similar scale with regards to their experience and revenue generation
Upon the formation of the Board, meeting timings are collaboratively determined to accommodate the busy schedules of all members. This recognition of the entrepreneurs’ time constraints is to ensure optimal convenience. Meetings are thoughtfully scheduled twice a month, and spacing them once in 15 days (like on the 1st Tuesday and 3rd Wednesday of every month). All monthly meetings will be conducted virtually on the Zoom platform only.
Each meeting extends for a minimum duration of 3 hours, resulting in a commitment of 6 hours per month. This allocation is tailored to the demanding schedules of entrepreneurs, providing a balanced and manageable engagement.
Immediate upon the formation of the Personal Board, dedicated WhatsApp groups are created for each Board. These groups serve as the central hub for all communication between TiE Chennai and its members, as well as fostering interactions among the members themselves.
Within these sessions, candid conversations flourish, delving into challenges, seizing opportunities, and sharing firsthand experiences. The focus lies on collective learning, leveraging real-life scenarios to get valuable insights and devise effective solutions.
The Personal Board Directors begin their purposeful journey guided by a series of structured activities, including the Wheel of Life, the Wheel of Business, commencing with a visionary end in mind, fostering proactivity in both personal and business domains, instigating innovative shifts within business routines, tracking and managing emotions, and an array of other invaluable exercises. These activities collectively empower Directors to introspect on their own personas and enterprises, paving the way for seeking insightful feedback from their peers.

Upon the completion of the initial year, TiE Chennai undertakes periodic reviews and assessments to gauge the evolution of each individual’s journey within the Personal Board framework. This evaluation encompasses a comprehensive analysis of personal advancements, perceptible behavioral shifts post-boarding, and other pertinent aspects.
Central to this process is the Health Check report, a valuable instrument that involves a reciprocal assessment by oneself and one’s peers. This introspective exchange enables a profound understanding of progress and facilitates constructive feedback, fostering an environment of mutual growth. Supplementary to the Health Check report is the 360-degree Stakeholder interview, a holistic assessment encompassing multifaceted viewpoints. This panoramic perspective aids in capturing a well-rounded evaluation of personal transformationand professional progression.
Periodically, we introduce the above-mentioned reflective exercises tailored to meet the distinctive requisites of each board. These exercises, designed to prompt introspection, function as a compass, aligning personal aspirations, motivations, and strategies, ultimately steering individuals toward their desired goals.
This forum strictly prohibits any form of monetary transactions among the directors within a group. However, engaging in networking sessions and other initiatives such as Buyer-Seller meets offers a valuable platform to explore potential collaborations and synergies in the business realm.
Given the diverse representation of members from across different regions of TamilNadu within a single group, our monthly meetings will be exclusively conducted via Zoom, our chosen online platform. To further enhance camaraderie and strengthen the connections among all participants, we have scheduled one in-person gathering every quarter.
Language will not be a hindrance, as all sessions will be conducted exclusively in Tamil. We do not have any expectations regarding your presentation or communication skills.
